CREATING A BETTER FOOD SYSTEM FOR THE PEOPLE OF CHELTENHAM, THEIR COMMUNITIES AND OUR CLIMATE.
WELCOME TO THE HOME OF CHELTENHAM'S
Our vision is BOLD but simple: to create a vibrant, healthier, sustainable, and more equitable food system across Cheltenham. Our purpose is to bring the many organisations, community groups, institutions and citizens together that are contributing to a better food system for Cheltenham.
Phase one identified the opportunity and the desire from our partners to move past the existing food system which was designed for emergency food provision during the pandemic.
Phase two, our current phase is to gather insight through public consultation to determine the barriers our citizens face and gaps in accessing good food whilst working on our six action plans found here.

WHY GOOD FOOD?
The way all of us produce, buy, cook, eat and throw away food in Cheltenham is important and we believe in the true value of good food on people, places, and planet. Ultra processed food impacts our health, our communities, and our economy, and contributes to the climate and ecological emergencies the planet faces today. Good Food Cheltenham is on a mission to increase more good food into our local food system, we class good food as:
It is tasty, it provides nourishment and enables people to thrive.
It is produced in a nature-positive way, seasonally, free from chemicals and not wasted.
Everyone along the food chain has been treated well and everyone is paid fairly.
Accessible – quality food is available to all within Cheltenham.
Check out our FAQ's page here for more information on how you can access good food.
Our blog features the work being done by our network partners and Good Food Cheltenham to drive our vision forward all based around our six priorities and their subsequent action plans.
